In Memory

Dick Reese

Dick Reese

Most of you will remember Dick Reese as one of the coach's at Montebello High school.  Dick passed away on Monday January 24, 2011 at the age of 88.  Dick had suffered a stroke about a year ago and had been in failing health in the past few months.  He was a longtime Montebello High School teacher, coach, and athletic director and true mentor to many of us in the school community.  Dick got his doctorate in the mid 1970's and left the MUSD to become an administrator in the Palos Verdes School District, where he eventually retired. Rest in Peace Dick you are gone but never forgotten.

If I could speak to the Reese family I would tell them that:

It's strange that there are some names and faces that you never forget. Usually these people are the ones that influenced you the most.

Dick Reese is one of these people. Dick, along with Stu Pike and Kobie were my football coaches during high school and were instrumental in developing my character. The knowledge they passed onto me served me well during the following years.
