Joan Orshoff (Marks)

Joan Orshoff Marks, beloved wife to the love of her life, the late Norm Marks, mother and grandmother left this world, peacefully, in her sleep on June 1st, surrounded by her family.  She livied a life of enormous accomplishment, love, success andgreat satisfaction as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and elementary school principal.  Joan was very active in her community after retirement and traveled with her dear group of friends to many parts of the world. She fought a brave battle with Cancer and had the most positive attitude which her friends and family greatly admired.  She lead her passion, love, strength and the kindest heart.

I am saddened to hear of my old friend Joanie's passing. One of the best times I had with her was attending her brother Richard's Bar Mitzvah a long, long time ago. Rest In Peace, dear friend.

She was an amazing woman who actually taught me how to dance in high school. I really enjoyed the gathering together parties she and her husband had at their home.

My sincerest condolences to Joan's family.  I have many fond memories of Joan from our high

school days to more current memories of enjoying the desert when she would come down and stay

and visit with Vicky Franks.   A gentle kind soul....for sure a life well lived.

Joan and I have been friends since Jr High. She was always very friendly with a bubbly kind of personality. Over the years we lost conract until one day when we realized we both owned a condo in the desert only a block away from each other.  When we finally met the first thing out of my mouth was " I'd  recognize those dimples anywhere".   We became close friends whenever they came to the desert we'd akways go to dinner and she would assist me in planning our class reunions.   She was a classy lady always with a smile on her face.  She will truely be missed.  She'll be joined by our other classnates in Heaven planning the grestest reunion. may you rest in peace Joan and say Hi to Norm.  Love you girl.
