I have been married for 56 years to a wonderful guy that attended Chaffey High School, but because of district changes he graduated the first year of Montclair High School's inception. Jay and I were in the garment business for about 20 years, had our own line of clothing and laughingly I always sign my name "JoanieW" where people use to travel across the country to see her. Our label was obviously JoanieW and our line being in the LA Mart was popular to retail stores such as Dillards, Sears Roebuck, JC Pennys, Macys and many others. It was a very fast moving, exciting business. We then moved our business to Mexico as the industry was being forced to leave Los Angeles and going to other latin countries, due to too many regulations and high workmens comp costs and we as an industry could no longer do business here.. We lived in Mexicali (during the week) for about 2 years and then we bought a couple of sewing factories in Ensenada and Manadero (which is just out of Ensenada). We had a great time living and working in Mexico. Whenever I ask Jay if he misses the clothing industry he always says "Yes, I miss the days in Mexico". Go figure 20 years in Los Angeles and 4 years in Mexico.

We have 4 wonderful grandchildren. Colby - 23 yrsold, Luke - 14 years old, Ryan - 14 years old and Delaney who just turned 11 years old.
School Story:

I only have great memories from Montebello and also at Eastmont Junior High school. These years were very important stepping stones in my lifes path. It's amazing that evertime I meet up with someone that I went to school with (which actually happens all the time) its like we've never been apart.

 I am shocked and saddened to hear about Joanie.  
She was a very sweet and nice woman and I enjoyed keeping up with her,  
Our thoughts are with Jay and the family

I just heard from Donna (Goodman) and Mary Anderson.  We are so shocked and saddened.  Joanie will be missed by so many.  She had a heart of gold and was always ready for a laugh.  I pray for strength for Jay and her family .  Rest In Peace .

Hi Fred …. He married Darlene Pfiel early on and they had two sons together. They divorced and just from what I knew he moved to Oregon and remarried sometime later, I believe.

I am so sorry and saddened about Frances.  Always because of our heritage, I felt like we were family and I know she did too.  Frances's mom, Felisa and Frances' Dad along with my Grandparents, coming from Spain joined the Spanish Society.  Frances and my cousin Blanche, played the accordian at the spanish picnics, which prompted my sister and I to want to take accordian lessons.  My sister and I never got as good as our cousin and Francis.  We had such a great talk and visit at our 50th ... we chatted for hours thru out the whole weekend.  xoxo

Very sad.  Parkinsons is horrible, that is what took my Dad.  George, I am very sorry for ur loss, and please let Alan know as well.  Jimmy called me yesterday and gave me the news, and its a heartbreaker for sure.  God bless his family and his 3 best friends ... God Bless Don.  Xo Joanie
